Over 19,000 People Infected and 7,693 Killed from Ebola

The World Health Organization (WHO) has disclosed that about 19, 340 people are already positive for Ebola, the majority are of these are in Sierra Leone.

Ebola has killed over 7,693 people since the first case was reported in Guinea on December 24, 2013, WHO officials said today.

Health officials reported 30 Ebola deaths yesterday and 60 new infections. Sierra Leone is leading the chart on infections and deaths in West Africa.

A scientist, Peter Piot who returned from Sierra Leone on an assesment trip told the BBC that the world must prepare for a prolonged epidemic in West Africa.

Three days ago WHO predicted that the epidemic might last until the end of 2015.
