Latest figures from the World Health Organization (WHO) released today has revealed that 8,371 people have died of Ebola in West Africa as of January 3, 2015.
WHO says Sierra Leone has 10,094 infected persons and 3,049 Ebola deaths as of January 3, 2015.
In Liberia 3,515 people have died of Enola and 8,278 people are Ebola positive, according to WHO reports.
Guinea has only recorded 2,799 infection cases, and 1,807 Ebola deaths.
The United Nations Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER) says it is adopting a new strategy to conduct 100% of burials safely and with dignity, and to isolate and treat 100% of Ebola cases.
