Sierra Leone Records 55 New Ebola Cases this Christmas Eve

Sierra Leone has recorded 55 new infections today on Christmas eve, according to official reports.

42 of today’s infections are from the Freetown area.

A national lockdown is in force today in Sierra Leone as part of measures by the president to prevent public celebrations of Christmas and New Year.

Prices of basic commodities went on the increase by a hundred percent today in most cities as people engaged in panic shopping across the country.

The World Health Organization has said today that the Ebola epidemic may last until the end of 2015.

A scientist, Peter Piot is quoted by the BBC to have said that the world must brace up for a prolonged epidemic.
