46 New Ebola Cases, 16 Deaths Today in Sierra Leone

46 new infections reported today; bringing the total of infected persons to 6,856 nationwide. Health officials also said 16 people died today of Ebola, including a prominent doctor, Victor Willoughby. So far 2,111 people have died of Ebola in Sierra Leone since June, 2014. There were 18 infected persons from Freetown and its environs today.

Health Ministry sources in Sierra Leone report that a team of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, epidemiologists, public health officers numbering over a hundred personnel has arrived in Sierra Leone from Ethiopia to help contain the Ebola epidemic.
